HOUSE OF INKANTATION
THE SOUND OF MYSTICISM
FEATURED RELEASE
HOUSE 033 - ZWISCHENLICHTEN - Leidgeboren
CD / LP / Digital
Zwischenlichten is back – and takes its introspective dark folk to a new level. With the second album “Leidgeboren,” the project has created a cycle of haunting songs, composed almost entirely without digital instruments or sound effects. What emerges are chamber-folk epics and intimate miniatures that unfold a previously unheard strength, depth, and dynamism. While “Dämmerschwellen” (2022) still delighted in the play of colors of the setting sun, “Leidgeboren” is set firmly in the night. The lyrics wade through the depths of loss and grief, longing and pain — only to discover, within the darkness, a light that promises healing. Alongside original lyrics, the album includes three musical interpretations of poems by the Upper Franconian local poet Christian Sümmerer, some of which are published here for the first time from his literary estate.
HOUSE 052 - Rodung - Waldvolk
CD / Digital - March 27th, 2026
With Waldvolk, House of Inkantation presents the debut album by Rodung, the black metal project of Franconian one-man artist Sunnôwulf. Musically, the album is firmly rooted in atmospheric, nature-oriented black metal and can easily be seen as a Franconian counterpart to Paysage d’Hiver – raw, cold, shrouded in mist, and relentlessly focused on atmosphere. At the same time, the material will strongly appeal to fans of the harsher moments of Forteresse or Serment. The jewel case edition includes two bonus tracks and is complemented by a 12-page booklet featuring all lyrics, along with evocative artwork that visually reinforces the album’s nature-mystical and folkloric aesthetic. Waldvolk is aimed at listeners who seek coldness, space, and atmosphere in black metal – uncompromising, raw, and deeply rooted in the wilderness.
HOUSE 051 - Schwarzwasser - ...von Wahn und Sehnsucht
CD - March 27th, 2026
'Schwarzwasser present themselves as a new voice in atmospheric, melodic black metal with their debut Von Wahn und Sehnsucht, clearly drawing on the spirit of early post-black metal as shaped by bands such as Lantlôs, Karg, and Les Discrets. The mini-album comprises four tracks with a total runtime of just under 25 minutes and unfolds a dense, melancholic soundscape devoted entirely to escapist world-weariness. Von Wahn und Sehnsucht is thus less a loud manifesto than an inward-looking statement that invites escape from the noisy present and, for nearly 25 minutes, opens up a refuge of fog, forest, and inner emptiness. With this debut, Schwarzwasser deliver an atmospherically dense first release that stands apart from the current black metal uniformity and already sparks curiosity for future releases—a small, dark insider tip for those who seek not only sound in music, but also refuge.
HOUSE 049 - HEMLOKK - Letter to the Buried
CD / MC / Digital - February 27th, 2026
'Letter to the Buried' is a restrained and reflective record, concerned with what lingers after use, belief, and community have faded. It draws from rural spaces shaped by generations of work and quiet devotion: a farmer’s cottage standing empty, a village church no longer filled with voices, a headstone half-lost beneath moss and leaf litter. These are not presented as symbols, but as lived places—weathered, ordinary, and carrying weight through familiarity. An album about standing still and listening—to land, to history, and to what remains when most things have passed out of view. Old, intimate English folklore—quiet and weathered rather than romantic.
HOUSE 048 - CROOKED MOUTH - Cosmic Folklore
CD / Digital - March 27th, 2026 /// Vinyl via Aetheric Recordings
“Cosmic Folklore”, the 7th full-length album by Crooked Mouth, is a journey through the folklore and esoteric symbols of the sun, the moon, the planets, life, death, and the realm between them, as seen through the lens of the songs and traditions of Old Europe, as well as the post-modern experience of seeking the “new old ways”. Words are keys, but the reality they express is the door. Words and languages are perspective, but above them is a transcendent reality. The goal of this album is to perhaps point a finger upwards toward this; to whatever lies beyond the dome of the heavens. Influences from neofolk, industrial, drone, noise, psychedelic, post-punk intermingle with traditional and ritual music, creating a unique mixture.
HOUSE 047 - KARG - Weltenasche
MC - January 30th, 2026 - License Release with kind permission from A.O.P. Records - OUT NOW!
Weltenasche is the first Karg opus which is lyrically completely performed in the dialect J.J. grew up with and which is spoken around the mountains of his hometown. Although highly influenced by post-rock and hardcore, Weltenasche is still a black metal record at heart – even though it’s far from what purists would call "black metal." But Karg has always been a band of individualists, for individualists, and always will be; not for nothing is J.J. also a member of iconoclastic critically acclaimed labelmates Harakiri For the Sky. Take flight and descend with Karg's Weltenasche, across infinity and beyond, where rules are discarded and only the strength of the spirit rules supreme...
HOUSE 046 - FIRTAN - Ethos
MC - January 30th, 2026 - License Release with kind permission from A.O.P. Records - OUT NOW!
A work that promises to be their deepest, rawest, and heaviest yet. 'Ethos' delves into serious existential themes in an abstract manner, contrasting decline and opportunity within an ambivalent context. This juxtaposition is reflected in the music itself, confronting listeners with the harshness and sonic tension between harmony and dissonance, revealing the meaning and emptiness of existence. ‘Ethos’ follows the critically acclaimed 'Marter,' and stands as a testament to the vibrant dynamics within the German Black Metal Scene. The album will feature guest performances from J.J. (Harakiri for the Sky, Karg) and L.G. (Ellende). Expect to be immersed in a world where melody and chaos collide, where unapologetic riffing and haunting melodies guide you through the shadows of the human condition.

HOUSE 044 - MOTHER HAVOC - Nach Haus'
MC / Digital - January 30th, 2026 - OUT NOW!
With “Nach Haus’”, Mother Havoc presents its debut release on House of Inkantation. The work marks a new chapter in the evolution of the project, originally founded by Rob Monstar in 2013 and continually reshaped over the years. This release stands for a return to an unfiltered, immediate form of expression in which raw emotion and sonic depth coexist in equal measure. “Nach Haus’” deliberately avoids an overarching concept. It serves instead as a snapshot — a reflection of an ongoing creative process that moves between introspection and intensity, stillness and momentum. The pieces convey a sense of openness that invites both contemplation and transformation. Lyrically, the release explores themes of memory, the everyday, and the unspoken spaces between light and shadow. “Nach Haus’” presents Mother Havoc as a project defined less by stylistic boundaries and more by the authenticity and honesty of its expression.
HOUSE 043 - BROTHERS OF A LONG FORGOTTEN WINTER - Remove the Splinters of the Troll’s Mirror
CD / Digital - January 30th, 2026 - OUT NOW!
Guided by the struggle against forgetting, against war, hatred, and fascism, Italian musician Davide Borghi (Albireon) and German multi-instrumentalist Mika Wilhelmson (Skadis Odem, Mondwinde) joined forces to found the project Brothers Of A Long Forgotten Winter. Their joint album “Remove The Splinters Of The Troll’s Mirror” is a haunting work about memory, humanity, and reconciliation – a musical appeal against amnesia and the resurgence of old hostilities. Musically, “Remove The Splinters Of The Troll’s Mirror” moves between folk, dark acoustic, and atmospheric melancholy. The lyrics are anti-war, socially critical, and deeply humanistic – inspired by lived remembrance and personal experience. Songs like “Fires Of Rome” and “Brothers” explore guilt, forgiveness, and solidarity across borders, while pieces such as “Valentina’s Song” and “Splinters” infuse the album with poetic tenderness.
HOUSE 042 - TAAKEN - Min reise inn i mørket
CD / Digital - February 27th, 2026
Taaken returns with a darker, more expansive chapter of black metal—an epic saga carved in the bleakest shadows of existence. This new work delves deeper into the void, where cold winds howl and flames flicker in the eternal darkness. Through raw, unrelenting soundscapes, Min reise inn i mørket is not just an album, it’s a pilgrimage into the heart of oblivion. With tracks like “Den siste flammen,” “Min reise inn i mørket,” and “Evigheten er mitt hjem,” Taaken casts listeners into a storm of frozen despair, where time and space melt into a singularity of death and rebirth. This album is a reflection of existence on the edge - where every breath is a surrender, and every step forward is a descent into the unknown.
HOUSE 041 - INFAUST - Entseelt
CD / Digital - January 30th, 2026 - OUT NOW!
German Black Metal band INFAUST return in late 2025 with their fourth full-length album Entseelt, released through House of Inkantation. It is their first studio release since 2017’s Verblichen, and marks a new chapter in the band’s history with the arrival of vocalist Mt. Beliar, who replaces longtime frontman Psycho after two decades. Musically, Entseelt advances INFAUST’s dissonant and melancholic character through the use of multilayered guitar and bass arrangements, creating a dense and shifting sound. While the album still carries the raw intensity of their earlier work, it now also moves through more complex harmonic spaces, making Entseelt a fundamental statement of Cold Thuringian Black Metal.
